Wealth of Strawberries

I had an assignment to make an artwork that gets its meaning from multiples of casts. After making plenty of strawberry’s I was faced with the idea of abundance of wealth, how the top 1% thrives off of the backs of the working class, and the idea if you keep eating (taking advantage) of what you stand on, eventually you’ll run out.

Flower Faces
Sheet metal, metal wire, felt 16” x 8” x 5”. 2024
I wanted to challenge myself making stuff using the forge and bending metal, and through some sketches made these one line flowers with faces I replicated with metal wire

I was challenged to make something on the wood lathe, and with my love of horror video games and inspired by the works of Kiko Miyares made these works.

Ripe/Rotten
Recycled Wood, Oil Pastels 11” x 12” x 8” 2024
This piece I could scrap wood and three circles glued together. It reminded me of oranges so coloured the cross sections, and continued the theme of ripe and rotting food on the other side.
